HealthTech Connex Launches New Clinical Trial in Partnership with WCSBH

Study aims to assess neurophysiological changes in individuals with symptoms of chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Surrey, B.C. – In partnership with the Watson Centre Society for Brain Health (WCSBH), the HealthTech Connex Centre for Neurology Studies (HTC-CNS) has launched a new clinical trial.

This study aims to assess neurophysiological changes using an investigative technology, the NeuroCatchTM Platform, in individuals with symptoms of chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI) throughout their participation in the WCSBH half day program. WCSBH is the first rehabilitation centre in North America to adopt a four-pillar approach that includes cognitive rehabilitation, physical exercise, mindfulness, and counselling to increase function in specific areas of the brain that may be damaged or underperforming.

Preliminary research findings on the program have been positive in helping to provide a real reason for hope for people with long-term cognitive impairment due to brain injury. Our study could help further shed light on whether neurophysiological changes can be detected alongside, or before, functional gains for individuals with TBI.
